A Bit of Verse: Emphatic, Concise, Universal

Inner Projection
This is a piece of poetry that just came to me, like a lot of poetry does. However, what I find interesting about this piece is that it is so concise. I like the way it forms, emphasis coming down on short phrases and single words.
It is about that intimacy that we look for so much that oftentimes does not lie directly in the physical but in the intangibles, the acts we do for others, the sacrifice, and all else that is missing from "love" when the physical connection fails.
And lastly, to consider length, this is one of the shortest poems I've written, but sometimes the most beautiful is the most simple. Enjoy.
Back to Back
We make love
face to face,
often,
straining to pull
intimacy from
each other's eyes,
permanently
No matter,
separate
every thing
fades
If we sat back to back,
quiet,
barely touching,
barely moving,
maybe it would last
forever

I am moved by it because I utilize the expression "Back to Back" often in my illustrations. Husbands and wives in Christ with back to back living can see the real enemy coming in their relationship, satan. The husband covering the wife's back and the wife covering the husband's back. The pressure from satan presses them into one. Like the earth pressing the coal to create a diamond. There is more but this is a taste of what I mean. I know you have it. Thanks Jeff, always enjoy your work. You have heard the expression, "some minds just jell."Thanks Clarence. Appreciate the kind words and thoughts.
